A quibble: Nazis were not focused on whiteness. They were focused on Aryanness, which is similar to whiteness, but not the same thing. This let them declare European Jews were not Aryan, and it let them declare some other nationalities were honorary Aryans—I believe that category included the Japanese and the Tibetans.
