Do you understand the difference between Democrats and independents? Bernie did well in the primaries, but the Dem leadership managed to shut him out. However, the polls at RealClearPolitics consistently showed that in a head-to-head contest with Trump, Bernie did better because he addressed the economic concerns that the Dems have been ignoring since they adopted neoliberalism.

You only have to look up the polls if you doubt me.

Normally, a third-party candidate has no chance in a two-party system, but in 2016, there were two historically unpopular candidates. Bernie didn’t run because he didn’t want to risk a Trump victory. I wish he had—even with Bernie’s support at the end, Hillary was too poor a politician, offering little to working-class people and avoiding states that a Democrat could’ve won with a little effort.
