Race often still matters—for example, even when you correct for class, black men are more likely to be beaten by the police than white men.

Kimberlé Crenshaw's original concept of intersectionality was solely about race and gender. People have tried to shoehorn class in, but it doesn't fit. People of different identities want acceptance of their identity. The poor want an end to their class as poor people.
