Full agreement that you shouldn't count all Confederates as dying to end slavery, but many should not be counted as dying to support it either. There's a reason the Confederates had to impose a draft after the rich slave owners decided to secede, and there's a reason so many southern soldiers ran away when they could. Weren't Confederate soldiers the ones who coined "rich man's war, poor man's fight"?
