We know about Anthony Johnson's case because it was essential to institutionalizing slavery in the North American colonies. If you can point me to records that clarify what happened to the rest of the first purchased Africans, please do. The only thing we know for sure is that Anthony Johnson bought slaves, so it is likely the other Africans would have too, if they acquired sufficient wealth.
