Crenshaw created intersectionality to deal with social identities like race and gender. Some people tried to shoehorn class into it later, but class doesn't fit--people of social identities want respect for their identities, but poor people want an end to poverty.

So, yes, I think it is a waste of time to talk about race without talking about class.
