I agree with Sand that genetics should not be the definition of a people. But to claim a connection to a land, you need to establish a genetic connection to that land. Which is to say that logically, Jews do not need a genetic connection, but Zionists do.

Your argument is that if you feel like you're entitled to a land, you can take it, whether you have a historical claim to it or not.

I can see the argument that today's Palestinians and Israelies were created at the same time. That does not mean the inhabitants of British Palestine are not the descendants of Roman Palestine.
