I can agree with your conclusion, but not your premise. Racism is a historically new phenomenon. "White people" do not appear in the records of the British North American colonies until around 1680.

Is anyone dismissing the contributions of Jews in this discussion? I haven't noticed that. What I have noticed is what Shlomo Sand pointed out, that there is a fierce battle being fought over whether Jews are a race.
