I completely agree we need to study history.

But I would argue that Russia and China suffered more from nationalism than racism. In Russia's case, we have the writings of black Americans who went there to live and found life better than in the US.

And there are studies which conclude that racism diminishes as economic equality increases. It makes sense—richer people tend to look down on poorer ones.
