I didn't say it was evidence for continuous existence. I said it was an example of identity that preceded the creation of Israel. You may have been reading too quickly, because no one else appears to have had your problem.

Now, as I also said, I agree it's ultimately irrelevant. Kicking people off their land is wrong, no matter how they identify. But this seems to be important to Zionists, so I'm pointing out they're wrong.

And really, the words are not the same. Not all Jews are Israelis, and not all Israelis are Jews.

Further, Israelite traditionally refers to a tiny kingdom that disappeared over several thousand years ago, while Israeli refers to a nation that treats Jews better than Muslims.
