I have read all three of Douglass's autobiographies and David Blight's biography as well. I have not read the 1619 Project because Hannah-Jones is a neoliberal race reductionist who hates talking about class. When you say Douglass is cited, is he in the original version that the Times released a few years ago, or is he in the new book? Several of Hannah-Jones' critics have said he's not cited. And, interestingly, you're the first person to insist that he is.

LATER: Just did a search of the 2021 book. Yes, they mention Douglass. It appears they never say anything substantial about him: https://www.google.com/books/edition/The_1619_Project/B4MhEAAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&bsq=frederick%20douglass
