I probably need different terms than liberal and conservative because I didn’t mean Republicans and Democrats. I meant liberal and conservative positions on the line that runs from the extreme identitarian to the true universalist. Some Democrats take the conservative position on identity. Offhand, I can’t think of any Republicans who take the liberal position on identity, but I could be overlooking someone.
