I hear they tried to wave away the Dahomey Amazons' role in slavery by inventing a character who questioned slavery. I plan to see it when I can do it for free. Did they include any scenes of sacrificing slaves to display their wealth?

I completely agree there are black people who like fiction that obscures slavery, just as there are white people who enjoy fiction that obscures slavery. In both cases, it seems dishonest. A story about a fictional Dahomey Amazon who opposes slavery is no different than a story about a fictional Confederate who opposes slavery.
