If I'm wrong, please enlighten me. What court case established the principle that people purchased as slaves should be held for life rather than eventually freed like indentured servants? That was the situations with the first Africans in the colonies, including Anthony Johnson himself, so obviously, there had to be a new precedent. What was it?
