I'm not fond of the term "mixed socialism" because any system that leaves capitalists with the power is capitalist, but I agree Keynesianism was much, much better than the neoliberalism that's growing the wealth gap now.

Socialism was a problematic word in the US--King avoided using it because the Red Scare was not completely over in the '60s. But I understand it was less demonized in the UK.
