It’s good of you to find those links, but there are two problems with them:

1. They’re opinion pieces, not editorials, based on the bit that I can see.
2. I can’t read them because I can’t afford the New York Times.

My understanding is that European political parties are funded by their members, so they’re not an example of capitalists funding socialists. Mao and Lenin and Castro sure didn’t get funded by capitalists, while Hitler and Franco and Mussolini did.

Google can tell you who Sanders’ backers were. If memory serves me correctly, the largest was the nurse’s union.j

Further, Sanders was not running a socialist campaign. He was promoting Scandinavian-style capitalism.
