It’s significant that you quote Dan George speaking fifty years ago, when the reality of racism was just beginning to change—a black man could not have been elected President then, and interracial marriage was still very controversial. Race mattered more than class in many ways.

Yes, you can find some exceptions where BLM talks about people of other races. But I trust you notice that’s not in their name, and in the vast majority of cases, they focus on black victims.

Do you reject these guys?

“In the treatment of poverty nationally, one fact stands out: there are twice as many white poor as Negro poor in the United States. Therefore I will not dwell on the experiences of poverty that derive from racial discrimination, but will discuss the poverty that affects white and Negro alike.” — Martin Luther King

“I believe that there will be a clash between those who want freedom, justice and equality for everyone and those who want to continue the systems of exploitation. I believe that there will be that kind of clash, but I don’t think that it will be based upon the color of the skin.” — Malcolm X, 1965

“we believe our fight is a class struggle, not a race struggle.” — Bobby Seale, co-founder Black Panther Party
