My fear is that privilege theory obscures class inequality. Because poverty is disproportionately black, privilege theorists are often quick to dismiss the fact that poverty is numerically far more white. I’m fascinated by BLM — the movement focuses on 1/4 of the problem. But perhaps that’s the only way to get liberals to address a class problem.
