Neoliberalism is what followed New Deal (aka Keynesian) liberalism in the late '70s. Before neoliberalism, the wealth gap was slowly shrinking. Under neoliberalism, it began expanding again. Perhaps the greatest trademark of neoliberalism is the fetishizing of privatization.
