Obvious facts are often not facts. Statistically, there is no racial bias in police killings—there's a class bias, because poor white and black people are equally likely to be killed, and middle-class white and black people are equally unlikely to be killed.

Further, the people who are most likely to kill a young black man are other young black men, just as the people most likely to kill a young white man are other young white men.

Last, not liking people on the basis of race is the definition of racism. You can pity people for the things that inspired them to become racist or sexist, but they're still racist and sexist, and not everyone who goes through similar things becomes racist or sexist.
