Out of curiosity, do you think all black people think alike? I admire the scholarship of black thinkers like W.E.B. Du Bois, author of The Souls of Black Folk, Eric Williams, author of Capitalism and Slavery, Barbara and Karen Fields, authors of Racecraft, and Adolph Reed, author of Class Notes.
No one is saying American slavery was not racially oppressive. We are saying it was not created to oppress a race but to benefit a class that included the black people who both sold and owned slaves in Africa and in the Americas. See the Barbara Fields quote at the end of this: https://medium.com/a-universalist-in-an-identitarian-age/who-am-i-to-write-about-race-fc886bdc3071
