Poor white people are powerless. They know the cops are not their friend — I suspect they get the same speech as kids that many black kids get. I got it from my dad.

And I don’t think poor whites are collateral damage in a racist war. Poor whites have been looked down on for centuries. “White trash” is not a new term.

Racist cops definitely affect some things, like pulling over cars, but the statistics say they don’t affect police killings, probably because killing is such an extreme action, even for fairly hardcore racists.
