The notion that someone like Arendt who was a cultural Zionist was "unconsciously antisemitic" is popular with identitarians who assume anyone who does not agree with them must be opposed to their identity. In the real world, having friends or family who are conflicted about something does not mean you are conflicted about the same thing.
