The original claims of "systemic rape" are being dropped because it seems likely that any rapes were committed by the people who followed Hamas.
And it seems likely that most and maybe all of the burned bodies were due to Israel's implementation of the Hannibal Directive. Hamas did not have the kinds of weapons necessary to create that sort of damage, while we know that at least one Israeli tank fired on a house containing hostages and many cars were destroyed by Israeli air power. Those bodies were so badly burned that Israel had to admit its original count of the dead did not distinguish between Hamas and hostages.
It will be interesting to see what's ultimately revealed about that horrific day.
