The preeminent black critical writers who I respect are not identitarians grounded in neoliberalism. They are critics of capitalism like Du Bois, King, Malcolm X after he left NOI, Adolph Reed, and Barbara J. Fields. I suggest you read them. You will be startled to find that not all black writers are race reductionists.

As for my family, Shetterlys have been in the US since 1775. None in my line owned slaves. Several fought to end slavery. So even if I believed in blaming children for the sins of their parents, those particular sins are irrelevant to me.
