There is always some overlap with the norms of the bourgeoisie and the working class, but really, black people don't try to model themselves after white Appalachians or Brooklynites. The fact that the norms of the ruling class are imitated precedes the idea of race--when the Persians were the dominant power, Greeks imitated them.
