There were far more leading white abolitionists than black ones. And if you take a look at the faces of the civil rights martyrs, you'll see there are almost as many white ones as black.

The 1619 Project left out Douglass. I'd say that's erasing. Can you quote anything about Douglass from the initial essays?

And out of curiosity, why do you think the 1619ers chose to ignore him?
