They want to feel virtuous about being rich. They think that if we have a pure class system in which the rich and the poor are racially proportionate, that will mean we have a meritocracy. Of course, they have no practical solutions for how to create a racially proportionate hierarchy. But it makes them feel good to talk about these things.
