This is misleading:

"Among the people not originally considered white in America included; Germans, Greeks, white Hispanics, Spaniards, Jews, Slavs, Italians, Afghans, Iranians, and Irish. The Immigration Act of 1790 only offered naturalization to, “any alien, being a free white person.”"

All of those people except Iranians were legally white and were able to become citizens. What they were not was Protestant, so they had none of the social privileges of Protestantism.

Iranians became legally white in 1915 after George Dow went to court to establish that Middle Easterners were white instead of Asian. See https://medium.com/a-universalist-in-an-identitarian-age/three-proofs-that-whiteness-is-no-longer-a-privilege-f8b81b4b91d2
