We all agree that racial divides exist. The question is whether we should try to make white people think of themselves as white, as many antiracists insist, or to get them to stop thinking in terms of race, as Baldwin and others demand.

I highly recommend starting with the Fields’ Racecraft. They’re brilliant, and their prose is a bit less academic than Reed’s.
