Your theory that the data is bad is arguable, but it stays an unsupported theory. I agree bias creeps into the interpretation of facts, but the facts in major newspapers tend to be trustworthy because the upper class relies on those newspapers for accurate information. That's why writers like Marx and Engels used major capitalist newspapers to gather facts that they then analyzed.
