What’s bizarre about your mindreading attempt is I could’ve written most of it as a criticism of the race reductionists who defend the 1619 Project. I do want a more complex account of the history of racism that includes attention to class mobility and the way the black owning class collaborated with the white owning class to perpetuate slavery. Rich liberals love the 1619 Project because it separates racism from capitalism.
