When I was a child, my parents could not get fire insurance because word was out that the Klan would burn our home down for their civil rights work. I have always cared about race. It took me a long time to realize that class matters more under capitalism, undoubtedly because for most of the 20th century, race mattered more.

I'm always up for a meal or a drink with someone who disagrees civilly.
