You are ignoring the implications of Israel’s use of the Hannibal Directive. We know Hamas wanted hostages, not bodies. We know that when Israel first reported the deaths, they thought hundreds of dead Hamas militants were Israelis because the bodies were so badly burned after Israel met the attack with bombs. There is testimony about one Israeli tank attack where an IDF member protested that hostages were inside a home that was still bombed.
And ultimately, dead is dead. If the ratio is the same, it’s the same.
