You make me wonder what percentage of people who inherit enough money to do nothing choose to do nothing. The people I know who were born with money find doing nothing boring, so they work or volunteer or create art—they use what they have to do more.
Unlike welfare, which comes with limits on how much someone may make and still get welfare, Basic Income encourages people to find ways to do more and make more.
