You sound like a good man, but there's something you're not considering: The police almost exclusively kill poor people. There are cases of middle-class people of all races being killed, but they're the exception. That's why the racial statistics of poverty and police killings are the same: two times more white people than black are in poverty and are killed by the police. You're statistically as safe as middle-class white Americans.
Which is not as safe as Europeans of any class, of course, which is why we need to demilitarize the police.
