You're very right that race and class continue to be factors today, but I side with James: national socialism is always a bad idea. Garvey, being a proud capitalist, was a huckster—see the shameful history of the Black Star Line. And I think you are wrong to call the Panthers nationalists. Fred Hampton made it very clear they believed they were in a class struggle that excluded no one in the working class. That said, I enjoyed your desire to be objective in addressing these very difficult issues and learned a few facts that are likely to be useful in things I write, so I thank you.
